The world's first (well do you know otherwise?) Social Media Train event will be held on Wednesday 10th February 2010 on the Penistone Line between Huddersfield and Sheffield. Before chosing your ticket, please read the following details carefully.

The Unconference is an essential accompaniment to the Social Media Train. The theme is "Social Media for Social Change", but, in keeping with the Unconference ethic, participants are encouraged to choose their own workshop titles (with some relation to the theme) and use their persuasive skills to convince other delegates to join them in discussing their topic.

The world's first Social Media Train (see, there's that claim again!) will depart Sheffield Station at 18:36 on Weds 10th February 2010. This is not a specially chartered train, rather we will be joining the normally scheduled service, and, with a 20 minute turn around at Huddersfield (with perhaps time for a quick drink in the "Head of Steam" adjacent to the platform), we will be returning to Sheffield, arriving at 21:41. Courtesy of our sponsors, CoSY Computers we hope to have connectivity to the outside world for most of the journey, and we will be encouraging participants to give talks on their use of social media as we travel though the beautiful Pennine countryside (in the pitch dark!).

The return fair between Sheffield and Huddersfield is £7.40, and participants will be required to purchase their own tickets before boarding the train.

On disembarking from the train at Sheffield, those still standing will repair to the recently opened Sheffield Taps Bar on Platform 1B for a post-event social.

Please not there are three kinds of ticket available for this event. You are free to attend The Train or the Unconference only, but, please note that, if demand for places at the Unconference exceeds supply, priority will be given to those attending the Train event also.
